Walter Isaacson to Speak at Guilford Oct. 7

Walter IsaacsonWalter Isaacson will speak at Guilford Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Dana Auditorium.


Isaacson is president and CEO of the Aspen Institute. He was chairman and CEO of CNN and managing editor of Time magazine. He is the author of Einstein: His Life and Universe, Benjamin Franklin: An American Life and Kissinger: A Biography.

A graduate of Harvard College and Pembroke College of Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, Isaacson began his journalism career at the Sunday Times of London. He also reported for the New Orleans Times-Picayune/States-Item.

Isaacson was vice-chairman of the Louisiana Recovery Authority following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and was appointed by President Bush to be chairman of the U.S.-Palestinian Partnership in 2007.
