McDaniel Earns Year-Long Fellowship to Study Hunger
Meisha Y. McDaniel ’09 was recently selected one of 20 national candidates to participate in the year-long Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship Program with the Congressional Hunger Center in Washington, D.C.
Emerson Hunger Fellows shape and implement local anti-hunger programs all over the U.S., and also research and provide support for national policy initiatives.
McDaniel, who is from Irmo, S.C., will graduate May 9 with a major in community and justice studies and a minor in non-profit management. She is this year’s recipient of the award for outstanding academic service in community and justice studies from the department of justice and policy studies.
