Jensen is Among Inductees to N.C. Sports Hall of Fame

Jack JensenLongtime coach Jack Jensen is among a group of eight selected for induction into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame May 15 in Raleigh.

Jensen coached Guilford to NAIA national titles in basketball (1973) and men's golf (1989) and to two NCAA Division III golf titles (2002, 2005). He was the NAIA golf coach of the year in 1989 and the NCAA Division III coach of the year in 2002 and 2005. He is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame and recently was inducted into the Golf Coaches of America Hall of Fame.

Other 2008 inductees are UNC Chapel Hill men's basketball coach Roy Williams, NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, former Duke athletic director Tom Butters, former Duke football standout Leo Hart, public relations specialist and Hall of Fame co-founder Bill Hensley, former UNC and NFL standout Ken Huff and Harlem Globetrotter Curly Neal.

The N.C. Sports Hall of Fame, which has 252 members, was established in 1963 and is housed at the N.C. Museum of History.
