Visiting Artist Kitty Hubbard to Lecture Nov. 5

Artist Kitty Hubbard ’87 will give a lecture about her art, teaching and life after Guilford on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Founders Hall Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.
Hubbard was the first female photography major to graduate from Guilford. She later earned a master of fine arts degree from the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, N.Y., focusing on photography, digital media, book art and installation art. She is an associate professor of art at SUNY Brockport.
Hubbard has participated in over 70 exhibitions, including venues throughout the United States and the Basiskulturfabrik Galerie in Neustrelitz, Germany. Her work is included in two major photography textbooks, Photography by Barbara London, 7th edition (2001) and Photographic Possibilities by Robert Hirsch, 2nd edition (2002). Her Memento mori no. 3, a large-scale print on handmade Japanese paper, is part of the Guilford College Art Gallery Permanent Collection.
