Three Named to Campus Life Positions

Three staff members in the Office of Campus Life began new positions within the division in January.

Jennifer Agor, who had served as director of new student programs since 2005, was named associate dean of campus life. She will continue to manage the college's orientation program, CHAOS (Community, Health,

Advisement, Orientation, Services), as well as other first-year student programming. Additionally, Agor will oversee the housing and residence life areas. Agor holds a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a master’s degree in college student development and student affairs practice from Appalachian State University.

Susannah Young was named the new director of residence life, where she will supervise all residence hall staff and all residential student housing on campus. She was previously an area coordinator with oversight over residence hall advisors. Young has a bachelor’s degree in studio art from William Smith College in upstate New York and is currently completing master’s of arts in liberal studies at UNCG.

Sandy Bowles, the new director of student judicial affairs, will have oversight of the campus judicial system, including training hearing officers, conducting hearings and working with the Student Judicial Board. She had also previously been an area coordinator. Bowles has a bachelor’s degree in education/museum studies from Earlham College in Indiana and a master’s in conflict resolution from UNCG.
