Anthony Bourdain, chef, author and host of The Travel Channel’s “No Reservations,” will talk about his work and life experiences in a Bryan Series event in Durham, N.C., Feb. 19, 2009.
The program is at 7:30 p.m. at the new Durham Performing Arts Center and marks the first time a series event has been held outside of Greensboro. Tickets are now on sale.
Bourdain is the executive chef at New York City’s famed bistro, Les Halles. He is the author of the bestselling memoir Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, which has been translated into over 28 languages. “We are very pleased to have an opportunity to share the Bryan Series with Durham and the rest of the Triangle area,” said Ty Buckner, senior director of communications and marketing. “Having sold out four programs this year in Greensboro gave us the opportunity to add a program to our series, and the new performing arts center in Durham is a perfect location for an extra event.”
Bourdain’s other books are the bestselling A Cook’s Tour (2002), published in conjunction with his series on the Food Network, Anthony Bourdain’s Les Halles Cookbook (2004), The Nasty Bits (2006) and No Reservations: Around the World on an Empty Stomach (2007). He is the author of crime novels including Bone in the Throat (1995) and The Bobby Gold Stories (2003).
A contributing authority for Food Arts magazine, Bourdain’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times and Gourmet. He has shared his insights about team building and crisis management with the Harvard Business Review.
A native of New York City, Bourdain studied at Vassar College and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America.
