Four Faculty Earn Tenure

The Board of Trustees granted tenure to four faculty members and approved the promotion of three others at its May 16 meeting.

The board approved tenure for Maria Amado, assistant professor of sociology and anthropology; Bryan Brendley, assistant professor of  biology; Melanie Lee-Brown, assistant professor of biology; and Lavon Williams, associate professor of sport studies.

Rob Whitnell (chemistry) was promoted to full professor, while Heather Hayton (English) and Hiroko Hirakawa (foreign languages) were promoted to associate professor.
