What is the Guilford Buzz?
On March 24, 2003, the Guilford Daily Buzz began the process of replacing campus-wide voicemail with e-mail as the means for communicating important daily information to students, faculty and staff. Since the Guilford Daily Buzz will allow the same reminders about meetings and events that campus-wide voicemail now does, the use of campus-wide voicemail except for emergencies and other extraordinary events will cease as of Monday April 7. That will help to keep voicemail in-boxes as free as possible and allow staff and students to focus on their own personal messages and on truly important campus wide messages. It will also enable the college to communicate information more effectively to an external audience.
The Daily Buzz is an e-mail listserv that will include submissions of announcements by students and employees and an events list generated by the college's Event Management System, which is maintained by the Student Activities Office.
The Daily Buzz listserv will automatically include college employees and students (with the option to unsubscribe), and it will be available to external subscribers. Employees and students will receive separate announcements as well as a common event listing. External subscribers will receive public event information only.
