What is the Guilford Beacon?
A Weekly Newsletter for Guilford College Students, Employees and Friends
Effective July 11, 2003, the Guilford Beacon (Beacon) replaced Guilford Announcements (gannounc) and Community Newsletter as the means for communicating important information to students, faculty and staff. The Beacon also will be available to external subscribers such as alumni, trustees, and other friends of Guilford College.
The Beacon is an online newsletter delivered through an e-mail listserv that will include top news stories, special interest items, community announcements and a schedule of events for the following week. Students, faculty and staff of the college will generate material for the Beacon.
The Beacon will be distributed electronically to all college employees and active students (with the option to unsubscribe) as well as external subscribers. If there are those who would prefer a printed copy of the Beacon, they should contact the Correspondence Center by calling x2268.
The Beacon is complementary to the Buzz, Guilford's daily announcements e-mail, which was launched in March 2003.
