MARCH 27, 2008: The spam/virus firewall for Guilford email encountered both excessive traffic and delays in delivering mail on Monday, March 24th. The problem intensified Tuesday and steps were taken with the vendor to correct the issue. IT&S believes it has solved the problem, and has implemented a secondary spam/firewall to help offload some of the daily traffic. For more information, click here.
JANUARY 28, 2008: On Thursday, January 31st from 12 AM to 1 AM, our Internet Service Provider is performing routine maintenance on our connection to the Internet. During this time the campus connection to the Internet may be disrupted. This should not affect the College's phone system or cable TV. DECEMBER 7TH, 2007: IT&S will be upgrading core campus networking equipment on December 28th, 2007. During the upgrade many campus IT services will be unavailable. Please click here for more information.
NOVEMBER 28TH, 2007: IT&S has received reports that the latest update to the Firefox web browser (2.0.0.10) is causing problems when accessing Lotus email via the web. IT&S has made changes to the Lotus server to address this issue and the problem appears to be resolved. Please click here for more information. NOVEMBER 7TH, 2007: IT&S has received reports from several on-campus students that they see occasional slowness in their connection to the Internet. IT&S staff are working to resolve the issue.
