IT&S Staffing Changes (August 2007)
The 2006 - 2007 academic year saw several changes in IT&S. The following is a summary of our new hires and our organizational chart.
Liz Schrauder, Instructional Technologist, was promoted August 2006. Liz, hired as an administrative assistant, has taken on the new role of instructional technologist. In her first year here she has written two grants, increased the use of our LMS, implemented the Apple Suitcase Initiative, and established a vibrant working relationship with faculty.
Eddie Asad, Director of Systems, was hired November 2006 promoted August 2007. Since then Eddie has been promoted to Director, Networks and Systems. His responsibilities include not only maintaining the current networks and systems infrastructure, but Eddie is also responsible for improving and building up the infrastructure for existing and new technologies. Since his arrival, Eddie has created systems documentation, improved backup processes and strategies, and led projects to update and improve the systems infrastructure.
Becky Renteria, Administrative Assistant, hired in January 2007. Becky has provided the department with much more than shuffling paper. She led the department's and college's development of a confidentiality and privacy policy.
Scott Fulton, Webmaster, was hired in January 2007. Scott came with a strong understanding of web technologies as well as networking and systems experience. Scott has contributed by developing many web based applications including: advisor change and mentor sign up,as well as assisting the department in networks and systems projects. Scott has worked closely with many departments across campus, including the newly formed Communications and Marketing department.
Erin Nettifee, Assistant Director User Services, was hired July 2007. Erin became Director of User Services in September 2007. Erin comes from a strong Help Desk background of managing the student Help Desk at Harvard College. At Harvard, Erin supervised 75 student employees and managed a laptop repair center. She has already begun to develop new ways to provide improved customer service to the students, faculty and staff of Guilford College.
Merritt Johnson, Assistant Director, Networks, promoted August 2007. Merritt is a Guilford College grad who began working for us in 2003 and was recently promoted to this new position. She will assist Eddie in implementing new technologies as well as managing the current network infrastructure. Merritt has been working with the data, wireless, telecommunications, and Cable TV network.
Ron Hinton, Assistant Director, Systems hired August 2007. Ron comes with a significant amount of systems experience. His strengths are in desktop support and management. With that Ron has learned to use the technology available to provide better support and deployment of desktop software.
