Emergency Response Line
At the beginning of December 1999, IT&S, ANS and Telecommunications instituted new procedures for reporting large scale problems with the computer network or phone system. A document describing how to do that reporting is now on-line.
An additional change is a new phone number -- 316-CHEK (316-2435) -- that you can call and hear a brief message describing the current status of the college network and servers, any known major problems, and any recent resolution to problems. If you're simply wondering whether we already know about a problem, this is the first place to call.
This document also describes the new procedures for contacting the on-call staff member after hours and how such calls will be handled. Please read this document carefully to understand what kinds of problems justify calling the emergency response line. You should continue to report smaller-scale after-hours problems to x2525, leaving voicemail, for IT&S to address the next business day.
