2.800 PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS
It is the intention of the College to fill vacancies from within whenever possible. Promotions shall be based on the qualifications and experience of individuals.
Lateral transfers within a department may be handled within the department with prior approval from the senior administrator and Director of Human Resources. Promotions within the same department may take place when there is clearly no other internal candidate with equal or better skills and qualifications.
The individual's salary may change when she or he moves into another position due to promotion or transfer. There may be an increase, decrease or no change in salary based on the level of the responsibilities of the position to which the employee moves.
