Greensboro Area

Guilford College is located in northwest Greensboro, which is the third largest city in North Carolina. The city’s population is approximately 258,000, with approximately 1.5 million people living in the metropolitan area. Greensboro is easily accessible by car via Interstates 40 and 85, by air via the Piedmont Triad International Airport and by rail via the Amtrak station located in the heart of downtown. The area is less than a 3-hour drive from both the beach and the mountains.

Within a 25-mile radius of Greensboro, there are seven other colleges and universities at which Guilford students may take courses. These schools include Bennett College, Elon University, Greensboro College, Guilford Technical Community College, High Point University, N.C. A &T State University and UNC Greensboro.

Greensboro is also home to New Garden Friends Meeting, Friendship Friends Meeting and Friends Homes, a retirement community that provides highly skilled volunteers in several areas of college life as well as internships and employment for Guilford students. Adjacent to campus is New Garden Friends School, which rounds out the multi-generational community surrounding Guilford College and provides additional internship and research possibilities.
